Although English by origin, Susan has long-standing, strong ties to the Grand Traverse Region, having lived on Old Mission Peninsula for the best part of her life, owned and operated one of the area's premier tourist attractions, and offered her services as volunteer with a number of area non-profits. As a Master Gardener in training, she worked on garden installations at both Immaculate Conception Middle School, and Traverse Heights Elementary, as well as helping geo-position many of the trees on the old State Hospital Arboretum. She has organized garden walks for The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City, is a founding member and former Board member of The Botanic Garden Society of Northwest Michigan, and is well known to many of the area's nursery owners. Besides her amazing Knowledge botanical Latin, she can conduct elementary conversation in French and happily chatter away in German, and though her every spare summer moment is spent nurturing her plants (and despite the fact that "gardening" can often be translated as shunting five hundred pound rocks from one side of the house to another, or wheelbarrowing 5 yards of topsoil in a single, scorching afternoon) she will nurture her clients with the same exacting attention and energy.
Susan loves to work with first time buyers, so she can share (vicariously) their excitement, but she's just at home showing top end property. Her knowledge of structure, architecture and the building trades means she will bring with her the ability to see not only what a property might offer to the naked eye, but also its potential -- a useful skill for anyone who wants to "personalize" their purchase. And of course, her passion for horticulture means that talent is not confined to just the structure!
She will bring humor to the process -- and that can ease the stress of either selling homes or buying them!
